On the morning of her first marathon, Victoria Patrick was drenched.
The rain wouldn’t quit that day last October, and a poncho provided little respite from the downpour.
But Patrick, director of race operations and community engagement for Girls on the Run, wasn’t deterred.
“I challenge myself to do things that are outside my comfort zone because that’s what we ask of our girls,” she said. “Mentally, I was in it, and I was there till the end. But physically, it just hurts.”
