Delta boosts payouts for bumped passengers to as much as $9,950

Delta Air LInes Inc., already one of the most effective carriers at convincing passengers to give up overbooked seats, is raising the stakes even higher.

CNBC reports that the Atlanta-based airline, which is No. 3 in market share at Kansas City International Airport, has boosted the amount gate agents are able to offer passengers on overbooked flights to $2,000, up from $800.
