With a new administration, and the ending of a quiet period, expect a flurry of merger activity in the telecom industry next month. The window could open for SoftBank Group Corp. CEO Masayoshi Son to pair up Sprint Corp. and T-Mobile U.S. Inc., after the two companies failed to merge in 2014.

Boulevard owner vaults up 10 spots on America's largest breweries list

Duvel Moortgat, the parent company of Kansas City-based Boulevard Brewing Co., is now the 12th-largest brewery in the United States according to the Brewers Association. That’s up 10 spots from 2015, primarily due to the company’s acquisition of a California brewery.

The only other Missouri brewery on the list is St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch Inc., which is the nation’s largest brewery based on sales volume in 2016.

After Proteon Therapeutics Inc.’s chronic kidney disease treatment failed a late clinical trial, the company is forging forward with a new plan that could take the drug to market.
