EyeVerify's Rush details entrepreneurial journey, gives advice at InvestMidwest

EyeVerify Inc. nearly ran out of money twice, and CEO and founder Toby Rush questioned if the company would survive. But in 2016, the Kansas City-based tech startup sold for a reported $100 million to Ant Financial, a unit of Alibaba Group Holding Ltd.

Torn Label rolls out the barrels for collective beer experiments

Torn Label Brewing Co. soon will launch limited-release beers from its new barrel-aging program, which was put together through partnerships with local distilleries, wineries and liquor stores.

The initial barrel-aged beer for Torn Label was called Long Time Comin’, and the brewery made it as a way to celebrate its first anniversary in early 2016. It was an Imperial Stout beer aged in whiskey barrels from Kansas City-based J. Rieger & Co. It sold out in a matter of hours.
