Firebrand Ventures is partnering with a local university to help early-stage entrepreneurs transform their concept into something tangible.

KC voters will get say on minimum-wage initiative

Kansas City voters will get a chance to vote on a minimum-wage ordinance after an opinion the Missouri Supreme Court handed down Tuesday.

The court, in a 6-0 decision, ordered the city to place before voters a minimum-wage ordinance proposed through the initiative process. The decision reverses a 2015 decision by a trial judge that the ordinance shouldn’t go to a vote because it violated state law.
